Billy Connolly, CBE (William Connolly, Jr.) was born on 24 November 1942. He is a Scottish comedian but also a musician and a TV presenter. He has acted in films such as Indecent Proposal (1993) and Mrs. Brown (1997) for which he was nominated for a BAFTA.He has the nickname The Big Yin (The Big One). He first worked in the Glasgow shipyards as a welder, but he gave it up to be a comedian in the early 1970s.
